Many people want to know how they can assist others in their community during a disaster. Many organizations provide disaster assistance to the community. Opportunities to volunteer may be found by contacting the organizations below:

For Residents:

    • Alameda County Fire Department - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • City of Hayward Fire Department - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • City of Fremont Fire Department - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • City of Alameda Fire Department - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • Communities of Oakland Respond to Emergencies (CORE)
    • Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

For those with prior disaster/medical training:

    • Alameda County Medical Reserve Corps
    • Berkeley Medical Reserve Corps
    • California Disaster Healthcare Volunteers (DHV)
    • California Medical Assistance Teams (CAL-MAT)
